VanceArtist Jane Lillian Vance teaches The Creative Process for The Department of Religion and Culture at Virginia Tech. For more than thirty years, Vance has traveled to South Asia, where she has studied Himalayan iconography and culture. Vance's painting of Tibetan Buddhist healer and lama, Amchi Tsampa Ngawang, is the subject of the documentary, A Gift for The Village. This documentary, sanctioned by His Holiness the Dalai Lama, is the first creative project associated with The Cabell Brand Center For International Poverty and Resource Studies. Vance is involved locally in community and public school art and education through The Virginia Arts Foundation. She also teaches middle-school aged children with special needs. She absolutely loves teaching The Creative Process at Virginia Tech.
